Fabulous Birthday Weekend
Yesterday I turned 28... Moment of silence to let that soak in... I remember in high school thinking "28 year old's were like really old adults" and I most certainly am not an old adult., am I?!
My boyfriend took me out to an amazing dinner Friday night at Bin of the Lake in Kirkland to celebrate and as I was throwing myself a pity party he reminded me of something that I was being too dramatic to realize.
This last year was a good year. Simple as that. I moved into my own place, I got my mortgage brokers license, I got to be a part of some of my best friend's wedding days and I got to witness numerous amazing couples commit their lives to each other. Met my boyfriend at one of those weddings too. :) Its been a good year.
I've decided I'm going to be excited about 28, because well honestly there's nothing I can do about it anyway. I am going to focus on the positive, try to let go of the things I can't change, develop more authentic friendships, and not just go through the motions.
Picture of our dinner: we had Seared Scallops, Hanger Steak, Brussels sprouts, kale and bruschetta. It was amazballs.
Since this was my "birthday weekend" that's right I had a whole weekend, I wanted to make the most of it, not just laze around all day like I usually do.
On Saturday my mom and I spent the whole day together which we haven't done in a while, just the two of us. My mom is the most amazing person I know and is truly the best mom a girl could have, I hit the jackpot in the parent department. She has the cutest sense of humor and can tell a story like it's nobody's business.
We went to U Village since the weather was so nice and scored some great finds. Here are some of my purchases. :)

We actually both purchased this stripped dress from J. Crew, I couldn't find it online but it's so comfy and I can't wait to pair it with my jean jacket and gold flats. This dress is also versatile, you could wear wedges with a skinny belt to make it a little dresser or throw on some Sperry's for a casual day look.

I got this white leather vest at H&M and to say I'm obsessed would be an understatement. It's such a fun piece and you could throw it on over anything: a maxi dress, plain t-shirt, sundress. silky top, denim shirt...you get the point. I wore it this weekend over a long flowy sleeveless tunic and leggings.
I also got a great hunter green shift dress with leather shoulder details and exposed zippers from H&M but I can't find a dang picture. You'll just have to use your imagination.
The other items purchased were from boutiques so I can't post any photos. Epic fail.
I posted this while watching the Oscars and I got to say the ladies are lookin fab. I'll post my favorite looks tomorrow. Can you imagine actually going to the Oscars as a nominee... talk about an important outfit to pick out!!! I'm stressed out just thinking about it.
