Adventures in juicing... My fav morning smoothie
 
Juicing is ALL the rage these days with people trying to detox or drop a few pounds, so naturally I wanted to give it a try. I went online, found a bunch of juicing recipes to try and made my way to the produce section... I tried to keep my juicing recipes simple, avoiding the ingredients I'd never heard of because I'll be honest I was lazy! I was lucky that my co-worker had a really nice juicing machine that she wasn't using so I got to try it out without the big investment of buying a juicer.
 
This was my favorite recipe:
- Carrots
- Apples
- Cucumber
- Spinach
- Oranges
- Lemon
 
It's simple and pretty good. I recommend avoiding celery because it has such an overpowering taste... which I hate. I didn't have a huge surge of energy or flawless skin as others have reported BUT I also wasn't doing it regularly.
Major con of juicing... holy mess of the kitchen... honestly it's a nightmare, almost makes it not worth it for me, besides I really enjoy eating my veggies and fruits in a solid form.  
 
I have decided for the time being juicing isn't for me... HOWEVER healthy smoothies, now that I can get into! My go-to morning smoothie is so yummy and filling, I don't get hungry until lunch which is a miracle
 
Smoothie Recipe:
 
- Ice
- 1 Banana
- 1 100 calorie vanilla Greek yogurt (I just get whatever brand is on sale)
- 1/4 cup of oats
- 1/2 cup of Unsweetened Almond Milk (DON'T get sweetened)
- Spinach (I fill the rest of the blender with spinach until I can't fit anymore)
